Hybrids are some of the most expensive everyday cars on the road. Honda makes the Insight for just under 20K but you won’t find a new hybrid for less than that and after options even the Insight runs over 20K.  Hybrid batteries are heavy and add to the weight of the overall car which some may see as a disadvantage. Some people say that hybrids are too quiet and this can pose a danger to small children and the visually impaired. Along with a high price tag to purchase there is also a high price tag to service these vehicles since parts are expensive and they usually have to be serviced at the dealer.  And lastly, the cars just aren’t as stylish as traditional cars and that’s more important to some people over being kind to the earth.
