It can be somewhat overwhelming whenever you begin learning about monetizing your blog.   There are many ways of doing this, one of which is affiliate marketing.  Herein you will make money by promoting other people’s products on your blog.  Whenever you sell these products you receive a percentage of these sales.

Once you know what you want to market, you will need to set up a blog.  The first step here is choosing which software you want to use.  There are 3 main types available:  Blogger, Word Press and Type Pad.  If you have very little money to use whenever you are first getting started, you will want to use free blogging software.  Herein Blogger would be your best choice.

Once you have a blog you will need to choose which keywords you want to focus on.  It is important that these keywords are closely related to the products that you plan to promote because you will be using them in order to write entries for your blog.  You will want to use these keywords whenever you are making new entries each week so that your blog remains within the Search Engines.  Besides using these keywords in writing, you will also want to use them whenever you are interacting with your visitors.  Of course, you do not want to come across as though you are spamming.  Instead, your goal is to build trust so that these people will begin to purchase whatever it is that you are recommending to them.

Now that your blog is set up you will need to find products that match your blog’s content.  You can do this by visiting Commission Junction, Click Bank and Amazon.  Once you have chosen these products you will need to begin to establish yourself as an authority on these things.  Only then will you be able to sell your products to these people.

After you do all of these things, you will need start getting traffic to your blog.  Besides using Search Engines for this, you should also post in forums and on other blogs that are related to yours.  In doing so, make sure that you don’t spam but simply use a clickable signature line so that people can visit your blog.

Once you learn how to make all of these things work for your blog, you will begin earning a nice income from your affiliate marketing work.
